Obama Delenda Est!";
Stu Tarlowe
Lately I've talked with
a number of Conservatives who, like me, had been energized enough by the
nomination of Sarah Palin to vote for McCain despite his lack of true
conservative credentials.
But
now that McCain has thrown away his opportunity to take a stand against the
socialist and pork-laden bailout bill, those same folks have lost their
motivation to vote for McCain, and are once again expressing the thought
that perhaps the election of Obama will, ultimately, be good for the
country, that it will set the stage for a true Conservative to
emerge, as Jimmy Carter set the stage for Ronald Reagan.
One
even said, "Our country has been around for over 200 years; it'll survive 4
years of Barack Obama!"
Consider,
though, that Obama's candidacy is the result of fifty years of groundwork by
the Left: the dumbing-down of the electorate through the systematic
undermining of the educational system, and the relentless brainwashing
through the popular culture that Liberals are hip and cool and that
Republicans are unhip, rich white elitists and religious zealots.
Consider
how even "white" has been rendered a pejorative, as when the Founding
Fathers are referred to as "a bunch of dead white guys" and that's a
guaranteed laugh-line for Letterman or Leno.
All
that preparation by the Left will come to fruition in the presidency of
Barack Obama. All that and far more. All that and far worse.
I,
for one, am not so sure our country can bounce back from that.
Even if McCain is far from the ideal champion of Conservatism, I'll take
my chances with him and give him my vote. Obama delenda est!
