Contrary to the advice of Top CIA officials, our President, in his
infinite wisdom, released Top Secret CIA memos divulging methods used to
extract information from terrorists. The CIA urged him not to declassify
this information as it compromises the future success of our war on terror
(Oops! I meant "Overseas Contingencies").
The President, however, in order to run a "transparent" administration,
felt that this information needed to be made public. Funny thing: There
are dozens of lawsuits seeking a court order to force him to make public
his own birth certificate, but he has an entire team of high-powered
attorneys working around the clock to keep
THAT
classified!
Top CIA officials are now telling us that the information gleaned from
"enhanced interrogation techniques" prevented attacks on U.S. soil,
specifically one in L.A. where they planned to crash a commercial jetliner
into a building. "Enhanced interrogation" techniques also exposed,
identified and closed down Al Qaeda training camps.
Torture, you say? I don't care if it's torture; they
DESERVE
to be tortured. They
BEHEADED
Nick Berg and Daniel Pearl and tortured -- using methods much worse than
our "enhanced interrogation techniques" -- countless
INNOCENT
others! They are
ASKING
for it when they are willing participants in terrorist organizations. Our
tortured innocents were not
WILLING PARTICIPANTS
in those activities.
Before my blood pressure goes off the chart, it seems the techniques
worked. But wait! What's that? He's
BANNING
the future use of those techniques? It can't be. It's like I can't
believe what I'm hearing and reading. The only explanation is that I must
have lost touch with reality and now I'm just floating around in some
hopelessly
STUPID parallel universe, devoid of
ANY
common sense or even (uncommon) logic.
Releasing the documents against the advice of Senior CIA officials was
colossally stupid, but banning the use of techniques that saved countless
numbers of lives is inconceivable! I've heard of spies infiltrating the
military to
gather intelligence, but I've never heard of a
Commander-In-Chief who joined the military and then proceeded to
completely
eliminate intelligence.
