In news from Israel that you certainly won't find in the KC Star or on our major networks, Rabbi Meir Avshalom Chai -- 40 yrs. old, married and the father of seven children, the youngest of whom is 2 mos. old -- was murdered Thursday by a Fatah terror squad. The attack was made possible by the Israeli government's removal of military checkpoints along the road on which the rabbi was driving home.
What you also will never learn from the mainstream media is that the Al Aksa Martyrs who carried out the murder are being trained by American military advisers (under Commander-in-Chief Barack Obama) with the full approval of Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak.

Clay Chastain is Back, with a New Speaking Style
Perennial light rail activist Clay Chastain was back in town this week, and made a speech at Union Station.

But the only remarkable aspect of his speech (besides resurrecting failed mayoral candidate Stan Glazer's plan for a Ferris wheel in Penn Valley Park!) was the peculiar speaking style that Chastain affected.

In fact, Chastain's style of delivery was all that Batman & Robin (aka Shanin & Parks) of the afternoon show on KMBZ Radio could talk about; they teased him so relentlessly about it that their "interview" was aborted after just a minute or so, and then they continued to beat the non-issue to death without him.

Shanin speculated that Chastain was "channeling" Dr. Martin Luther King, or FDR, or a Southern preacher. But Shanin, while long known for being deeply enamored of the sound of his own voice, evidently has a tin ear for the voices of others; to anyone with a real ear for voices, Chastain's unusual and distinctive cadences and emphases clearly evoked those of Sen. Robert Byrd, the former Klansman and long-time Senator from W. Virginia.

Galloway's rhetoric is characterized by praise and encouragement for jihad and condemnation for Israel. He claims to be a crusader for "human rights" while supporting Ahmedinejad and Hugo Chavez.
