Ten Day Chill Eases KC Anxiety
Those worried by both global warming and economic meltdown get a predicted ten day reprieve on the weather front. If we hear less talk about climate change nowadays it is because the global economic brouhaha has given area Chicken Littles a more immediate rationale for one world socialist government.

Twelve years ago, AG Jay Nixon sent 15 Missouri citizens to prison for simply telling a friend that he had a right to file a lien against a judge.  Nixon, now running for governor, does not want you to know.  We do.

Star Accuses Cashill of Lying About Star
Star Reader Rep Derek Donovan blasts Cashill's American Thinker article," Newspapers Censor Their Way to Oblivion."  The Donovan headline reads, "Stating lies forcefully does not make them true." Then, curiously, Donovan fails to cite a single mistake in Cashill's article, let alone a lie. As Cashill explains,  "To censor it is not necessary to kill a story.  It is enough to diminish its impact."  Judge for yourself.

AP and KC Star Urging a Missouri Death Penalty Moratorium
Opponents of the death penalty are starting up another campaign for a death penalty moratorium in Missouri.  Republican Missouri Rep. In Kansas, Tiller the Killer's Trial Proceeds as Courtroom Tensions Rise
Tensions continued Wednesday  between late-term abortion clinic operator George Tiller's attorney and Assistant Attorney General Barry Disney in the Tiller abortion pre-trial proceedings which started Monday.  Judge Clark Owens set Tiller’s trial date for March 2009, but a special hearing was granted to determine whether or not former state attorney generals Kline and Morrison acted within the law during their investigations on Tiller.

Dick Morris: Bush Hands Over Reins of U.S. Economy to EU
Dick Morris writes: "
At the G-20 meeting, Bush agreed to subject the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and our other regulatory agencies to the supervision of a global entity that would critique its regulatory standards and demand changes if it felt they were necessary. The European Union achieved this massive subrogation of American sovereignty the way it usually does, by negotiation, gradual bureaucratic encroachment, and without asking the voters if they approve."

Lewis Diuguid Claims "Proven Results" for Head Start Program
Not so, Lewis.  Head Start has shown to be a proven failure.  After the fourth grade, children who are in Head Start do no better in school  than children who are not Head Star children.  But billions of dollars are spent.

KC Star Opinion Page Give Advice To the Kansas Republican Party
How kind of the KC Star to offer free advice to Republicans.  The Star is bothered by the party's bylaws that says that party officials who contribute money to Democratic candidates will lose their voting rights within the Republican party.  Democrats frequently offer advice to the Republican party and Republican candidates.

Hate Speech By Mary Sanchez of the KC Star
KC Star's Mary Sanchez writes: "Racially charged death threats against Barack Obama rose toward the end of the campaign, according to Secret Service officials, roughly at the time Sarah Palin escalated her rhetorical onslaught against Obama as 'palling around with terrorists.' Nice going, governor".  Sanchez  makes a common media mistake: confusing correlation with causation.

Why Jamie Gorelick Won’t Get To Be AG
This week The New York Times profiled Jamie Gorelick, very possibly America’s next attorney general. In the way of “baggage,” the Times cites her past employment at Fannie Mae and her role in creating the famed intelligence “wall” while deputy AG under Clinton, but overlooks her most serious offense the one that put her in position to earn “$25.6 million in salary and other compensation” at Fannie Mae.

Star Censors Its Way To Oblivion
This campaign season The Kansas City Star passed on a parcel of the nation's most eye-popping stories.  Incredibly, at least five of those stories flared up in the Star's home state, Missouri.  As the reader might guess, all five stories reflected unfavorably on Democratic candidates.

Hang On To Your Wallets! - Union Station Wants To Raise Your Taxes
Union Station officials think your taxes are too low and need to be raised.  Matt Campbell of the Star describes how needy Union Station is.  He quotes CEO Andi Udris: “We’re keeping the place together with chewing gum, paper clips and baling wire.  It’s not the way we want to maintain the building.”  Another kleptocrat, Peter Yelorda, wants Rep Cleaver to get some federal (free?) money for capital "needs" at the station.
KC Star - Matt Campbell - Union Station calls for tax boost

Mike Hendricks' Liberal Approach To Crime Reduction
The Star's Mike Hendricks, a proponent of the "Catch and Release School of Criminology" examines the concept of locking up the bad guys.  He's against it. So does the KC Police Chief.   The Restorative Justice movement blames society for crime and opposes punishment for the criminal.
KC Star - Mike Hendricks - Crime is more complex than short-term fix

Jackson County Exec Mike Sanders Proposes a Reduced 2009 Budget
Stop the presses!  A politician who wants to reduce the budget!  Mike Sanders promised the voters in 2006 that he would not raise taxes. No raises, but no layoffs.   Have we found a truthful politician?  Disclaimer: This editor opposed Sanders in the 2006 election.
KC Star - Michael Mansur - Jackson County executive proposes a tighter budget for 2009

Lewis Diuguid Reports That Sara Palin Confused About Africa
The Star's chief Messiah worshiper Lewis Diuguid reports: 'The Republican party's post-election downward spiral continues with aides of John McCain saying that Sarah Palin did not know Africa was  a continent".  However, Barb Shelly reports that the story was a hoax. Diuguid, Fox News, and and lapdog press bought the hoax hook, line and sinker.

KC Star Promotes Global Warming Hoax
The headlines shout “Climate change brings Kansas dire Prediction.  Karen Dillon informs us that Kansas will be much hotter and dryer.  She quotes a taxpayer funded study by KU describing the pestilence and disasters caused by global warming.  The $300 million spent by Al Gore for marketing its doing it job and Star unquestionably saluted and has jumped on the promotion bandwagon.  Do debate allowed on this subject.

Gays and Lesbians Disrupt Church Service in Michigan
According to the alternative Lansing City Pulse – which reported it was notified of the protest ahead of time and sent a reporter along instead of warning the church – the protesters also screamed at parishioners and pulled the church facility's fire alarm. Printed material protesters distributed said, "We specialize in confronting homophobia, transphobia and every and all other forms of oppression."  Bash Back confirmed its "operatives" were in the service, "stood up, declared themselves fags, and began screaming loudly.  Don't bother to look for this item in the KC Star.

Do You Know a Tutsi (also known as Watusi) from a Hutu?
I didn’t think so.  The Rwanda bloodbath, ignored by the UN and Clinton, resulted in over one million savage deaths, now has a rebirth in the African Congo. This country is laughingly called the DRC or Democratic Republic of Congo.   This Marxist country, like all Marxist countries in Africa, is poor, corrupt, and violent.  The Star prints a commentary by Peter Makori, a Kenyan journalist who attempts
(and fails) to explain the disaster .  What will the Messiah do to solve this?  Which terrorist group  will he (and the US taxpayers) support?.
KC Star – Peter Makori – Crisis in central Africa

The Star’s Lewis Diuguid Claims: "This is a Time to Celebrate"
Diuguid is entitled to his opinion that race trumps everything.  The post election stock market tumble isn't a cause for celebrating.  Releasing Gitmo terrorists, reversing the Bush tax cuts, implementing Al Gore’s Draconian carbon tax on fossil energy generation, shutting down talk radio in the name of “fairness” doesn’t move me to celebrate.
KC Star – Lewis Diuguid - FOR EVERY AMERICAN, A TIME OF CELEBRATION

The Star Reports Presidential Transition Not Always Cordial
However, the Star has selective amnesia. "Yes We Can" planning rallies will be at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the downtown McDonald's restaurant, 1100 Kansas Ave., until Jan. 13. A Confused Messiah Insults Nancy Reagan – And Later Apologizes
The Messiah was asked about his speaking with former presidents and he replied that “Hey, I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any séances". The Messiah's remark garnered a laugh from the press, though the statement was not true. In fact, it was First Lady Hillary Clinton who admitted to having at least one séance in the White House residence in which she and a small circle of friends summoned the spirit of Eleanor Roosevelt. Don't expect to read about it in the print Star.  The Messiah's gaffe is reported in the online Star.

KC Star’s Mike Hendricks Slobbers Over Sean Tevis's Campaign
Of course, Mike Hendricks is free to like or dislike any candidate in his commentary.  Hendricks gushed admiration for Sean Tevis because Tevis received $109,581, most from out of state  and most came in donations of less that $50.  These donations are below the threshold of having to report the source of the funds. Very convenient.  The Kansas Progress discusses Mike Hendricks' item.

The Pot Boils Over At City Hall – the Funk Sues the City
The KC Star, having attacked Mayor Funkhouser since his Minuteman appointment to the Park Board, reports on the mayor’s suit.  Lynn Horsley writes a friendly (to the mayor) report of this suit. It looks like the Star is changing their opinion of Funkhouser.  His endorsement of the light rail tax must have won her heart.

Now Is the Time To Ask What This Election Was About.
Ben Shapiro, a columnist, writes that this election was about one thing and one thing only: Americans' puerile need for unity through self-congratulatory, cathartic membership in a broad, transformative political movement.  For eight years, Americans have been engaged in hostile politics. And after eight years, Americans were sick of it.

Dow Suffers Biggest Post-Election Drop
It takes 15 paragraphs for the Star to cut to the chase as to the reason why. "Markets hate uncertainty,” said Callom B. Jones V, a stockbroker with Perkins, Smart & Boyd in Fairway. “No one knows where we’re going to go with the economy, taxes, regulation and banking, among other things."

Robert Novak Opines - No Mandate for Obama, No Lopsided Congress
He may have opened the door to enactment of the long-deferred liberal agenda, but he neither received a broad mandate from the public nor the needed large congressional majorities.  Obama will be hard-pressed not so much to enact his agenda but to keep his popular majority, which he considers centrist, as he moves to enact ultra-liberal legislation, particularly the demands of organized labor."

Oxford Don Trips Badly On “Dreams” Analysis
Oxford philosophy don Peter Millican has posted a report on Bill Ayers’ likely involvement in the writing of Barack Obama’s Dreams From My Father so shabby and slapdash that it had Jack Cashill checking Britain’s famous libel laws before he was halfway through.  The Brits, alas, are in the tank for Obama as much as our "elite" is.

All those young people and first-time voters excited about Obama, eager to see a dynamic new figure in charge, let down, dispirited, disillusioned by the outcome.  Just imagine it.  African-Americans angered by the verdict, struggling to understand why Democrats gained seats in the House and Senate but saw the first black nominee go down.

Is there a lawyer in the house?

Beware:  Election Fraud In Johnson County
This week, a woman reported that her ID had been used to falsely apply for an Advance Ballot, which arrived at her home unsolicited.  The form identified her name and address correctly but had an old phone number as well as an incorrect identification as a Democrat.  As she related, some months ago, a young man came to her door claiming to be a student at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School on a class project and asked her some questions about the upcoming election.  Being a teacher, she gladly cooperated.  At the end of his questions, he told her that in order for him to "prove to his teacher" that he had done the work, he needed her signature. Taking him at his word, she signed.  Anyone with similar experiences please call Arlene Krings at (913) 461-1145."

Are Johnson Countians Too Dumb To Vote?
Johnson Countians for Justice seems to think so. They keep insisting that only a small group of lawyers is fit to decide who should be judges in Johnson County.  Odd, how many of these judges turn out to be Democrats.

Did Duiguid Plagiarize "Socialist" Article?
The Star's Lewis Duiguid's claim that "socialist" is a "code word for black" may be stupidly insulting even beyond Duiguid's pay grade.  The video that follows by obnoxious white man (a code word for "obnoxious black man") W. J. O'Reilly makes the identical claim.  The question is: who made it first?

Ayers' Role In Obama's Dreams May Break Out
University-based researchers are now running tests to determine authorship of Obama's "Dreams From My Father." Preliminary results are positive.  The evidence argues that the struggling Obama brought his unfinished manuscript to Bill Ayers in the 1993-1994 time window. Ayers appears to have edited the entire book, in some parts with a light polish and in others with fully created situations and original analyses.

Light Rail Debate Skewed By Falling Gas Prices
Although no good economic news is allowed before the election, some may have noticed that gas prices on Main Street in KC have fallen to $2.29 per gallon down from a summer high of $4.09.  Hopefully, this will encourage people to vote sensibly on light rail.

Lewis Diuguid claims that
“the "socialist" label that Sen. John McCain and his GOP presidential running mate Sarah Palin are trying to attach to Sen. For Star, Problem Is Not Broken Promises, But Public Financing
Three weeks ago, McCain had $47 million left. Obama had $133 million.  Although McCain has criticized Obama’s reneging on an earlier agreement to use public financing, the Star reassures us that the problem is with the system, not with Obama. Surprised?

Goldfish Offered the Vote in Illinois
Election officials in Chicago's northern suburbs want to know why voter registration material was sent to a dead goldfish.  The election officials sent notices to Princes Nudelman, a now deceased goldfish owned by Beth Nudelman.  "I am just stunned at the level of people compromising the integrity of the voting process," said Lake County Clerk Willard Helander, a Republican, who said she has spotted problems with nearly 1,000 voter registrations this year.

McCain Makes Sense In Belton
Senator Obama wants to raise taxes and restrict trade,” McCain told the 6,000 who had gathered. “My friends, the last time America did that in a bad economy, it led to the Great Depression. Star's Hendricks Trots Out Bogeyman Kline In Judge Election>
Mike Hendricks has decided that the move to elect judges in Johnson County is all about getting Phill Kline elected as one.  In that Kline got 40% of the vote as an incumbent in a Republican Party primary suggests that elections may be the best way to keep Kline off the bench.  And how many abortion cases does the average District Judge see in his lifetime.  None?  One? More Evidence That Ayers Ghosted Obama's Dreams
There was a good deal of literary back-scratching going on in Chicago's Hyde Park. Obama wrote a short and glowing review of Ayers' 1997 book, "A Kind and Just Parent," for the Chicago Tribune. In that same book, perhaps with a self-congratulatory wink, Ayers cites the "writer" Barack Obama as one among the celebrities in his neighborhood. And much more.

There are few cases that speak to the dysfunction of the liberal plan for America more clearly than that of Sofia Salva, the Sudanese immigrant who accused Kansas City police of causing "her baby to miscarry" and just netted $750,000 for her trouble.  On the positive side, this may be the first unborn child to be called a "baby" by the Star and honored with a name, "David."  And isn't it "mothers" who miscarry?

Who Snuck The Anti-Semitism Into O’s Anti-War Speech?
In October 2002, Barack Obama gave a speech second in career importance only to the 2004 DNC keynote. This is the speech that enabled his handlers to position him to the viable left flank of Hillary Clinton and John Edwards.  Although effective, this speech was factually adrift in any number of key details and sneakily anti-Semitic. In Obama’s defense, he probably did not sense the anti-Semitic riff because he likely did not write the speech or fully comprehend it.
