Wind
Power Exposed
A report linked from the Star's Prime buzz web site asks: Will the
Messiah have to re-think wind power?
EnergyTribune.com reveals that Independent reports have consistently
revealed an industry plagued by high construction and maintenance costs,
highly volatile reliability and a voracious appetite for taxpayer subsidies.
Such is the economic strain on taxpayer funds being poured into wind power
by Europe's early pioneers -- Denmark, Germany and Spain – that all have
recently been forced to scale back their investments.

Political Cartoonist Lee Judge
Missing From KC Star's Opinion Page It seems
that the recent round of layoffs at the KC Star included Lee Judge.
Judge often crossed attacked conservatives with a vengeance. The
Star will replace his work with syndicated replacement cartoons. I
wonder if Glen McCoy will ever show up at the top of the Opinion Page.
Jonah Goldberg Writes That Unions
Have a Grip on Political Parties
Actually, only one political party. Jonah Goldberg write a great
column about the Messiah,
unions, and schools. He writes "The
main reason politicians adopt a policy of malign neglect: teachers unions,
arguably the single worst mainstream institution in our country today. No
group has a stronger or better-organized stranglehold on a political party.
No group is more committed to putting ideological blather and self-interest
before the public good."

KCK Government Gets a Taste of
Big Federal Government EPA Harassment The Kansas City, Kan., Board of Public
Utilities is facing millions of dollars in fines for allegedly spewing
pollution from two aging coal plants.
KS
Democratic senator Chris Steineger says that the
city needs to get out of the business of generating electricity and “leave
that to companies that have the capital and management expertise to do it
properly.” It's a case of "Do as I say, not as I do."

Carleton University students in Canada have decided that combating cystic fibrosis
is not worthy
of inclusion in their association's annual charity drive because the disease
affects chiefly Caucasian males and is therefore not sufficiently
"inclusive". ["Hmmm...I
wonder how they feel about Sickle Cell Anemia? Or AIDS?" -- Stu Tarlowe]

The Earth’s Not Flat, and It’s Not Warming Years after global temperature rises peaked around 1998 — and the
world has been cooling ever since — we're still hearing shrill warnings that
we are doomed to be deep fried by Mother Nature. Goratics
are now running our federal government (Bush included). And
many Goratics have the gall to compare the growing number of
scientists and others who scoff at their specious claims to flat-earth
believers

Liberal Quotes:
“You know, I’m talking about all of us back
in 1957 in Little Rock, Ark. I’m talking about George Wallace, Bull
Connor and I’m sure that the U.S. Senate don’t (sic) want to see
themselves placed in the same position.”
